Arizona Tennis!
Life's short, but it is never a steal..Make a run for it, make your life the most wonderful and beautiful it can be..You only have one life, don't you want it to be the best life ever?
Phew, the tennis in Arizona is tiring. Exhausting. Physically draining! I reckon it's because of the high altitude..Phoenix Valley is about 5000ft above sea level, whereas lewiston is AT sea level..I guess that explains the short breathness over here.. I played 20 mins of tennis yesterday with Tobias and, man, those were miserable 20 mins. I couldn't breathe, couldn't move as well as I usually did, and the balls were moving in the most erratic fashion, like missiles without direction..Literally, I only tipped the ball and the ball FLEW straight to the fence!
Because the air is thin, means exhausted of oxygen, the lungs had difficulty inhaling enough O2 to get the body to move..Which translates to slower movement, rapid decline of stamina, and inevitably, bad tennis performance. Haha..I'm not complaining though, because I think it's a great chance to boost my stamina.. They always say those black guys from Africa always dominate the long distance runs because they're from higher altitude countries. And this helps their lungs to become stronger. So when they come to compete, the lungs explode with power, as if being pumped with energy! Released from their constraint cages, and freedom to inhale as much oxygen as they want! No wonder they sprint like crazy horses...
Today, we played against Joe and Oliver. Joe, a 60+ years old man, with his expulsive attitude, drives people in both direction: hysteria and madness. He comes out with all these outrageous Shi% to distract you, ie: drops his racquet while your serving, points you to another direction and then while you're looking, he serves at you, screams aloud and starts tearing his shirt apart to show his aged body, and deliberately messes around with the score to throw you off your rhythm. I was informed of his tricks, all thanks to Tobias, and I LMAO at his archaic wiles = old tricks. (new word today!) Nonetheless, it was "all good", as Oliver puts it..
Tomorrow is a new day, and I'm looking forward to it!!!
By the way, Tobias's parents are great fun! His family is really nice too..hahha..phew :p
